At the start of the film, James Bond is not actually in service. He is no longer working for Her Majesty’s Service, and is in fact living in the Caribbean. Jamaica is seen as Bond’s spiritual home, where his journey started.

The Story

“His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

Director

The making of this film has not been without its problems. In fact, filming wrapped on the very day it should have originally been showing in cinemas. Problems go back as far as August 2018 when Danny Boyle quit as Director. He was eventually replaced by Cary Joji Fukunaga, whom you might know from Maniac – a Netflix series and for his work on TV show True Detective where he scooped an Emmy.

There are seven chakras, and the Heart Chakra is the fourth. It is also known by its Sanskrit name – Anahata, which translates as either unhurt or unbeaten. It is the place where compassion, love and empathy are stored, but can also be a storage locker of past hurt and pain.

Decision Making

This chakra is concerned with our ability to make decisions, of course, these sometimes relate to romance and matters of the heart. But, also in regards to wider family relationships and particularly unconditional love for ourselves and others. Plus, love is shown for the universe and spirituality, not just for people.

Things to do in the garden this Spring!

  • Prepare any gardenflower beds you have. Remove weeds and have a good dig over the area. Then work in some fresh soil, possibly some manure or fertiliser, depending on what you are going to plant.
  • Start planting summer-flower bulbs like Ranunculi’s and Dahlias. Roses should also be planted, so they have time to establish.
  • Bedding plants will be in the garden-centres now, and will provide some early spring colour. Deadhead for a longer flowering season.

The current environment that we are all having to endure is impacting on our lives hugely. Adjusting to being around family and emotional partners more than we are used to, having children around us more and so on, can be seriously stressful. All of this can impact on our mental health and physical wellbeing, perhaps even more than we realise. This can lead to anxiety, stress and let’s not leave out feelings of frustration!

If you were a fan of Downton Abbey, then you will recognise Dan Stevens who played Mathew Crawley. Blithe Spirit would have been released in May of 2020, but due to the pandemic it was rescheduled to Boxing Day, and then again to 15th Jan 21.  Where it will now have a simultaneous release in cinemas, on Sky Cinema and NOW TV.

Starring Roles

The film is a new depiction of a classic Noel Coward comedy. If fact, it has been put on the screen before, but the cast alone make this a worthy outing. Isla Fisher (our cover star), Leslie Mann and Dame Judi Dench to name a few.

Blithe Spirit Synopsis

Dan Stevens plays Charles Condomine, he is somewhat of a playboy with a career as a crime novelist. However, he starts to struggle under a looming deadline, and a severe case of writers’ block. His second wife, Ruth, played by Isla Fisher has designs on heading to Hollywood, and as such she wants to keep him focussed and writing.

Charles’ search for inspiration continues, and in a desperate attempt to get the writing juices flowing, he invites a medium to his home to perform a séance. The medium is called Madame Arcati and is played by none other than Dame Judi Dench. In fact, Dench is no stranger to Noel Coward roles, but this is her first time playing the medium.
